Experiencia negativa: This is a completely disreputable business. It is telling that, when I told 3 other private investigators in the area that I was dissatisfied with my experience with my previous private investigator, all 3 (unprompted) asked if it was Barefoot. I am pursuing a libel and slander case; after taking a lot of time providing background info to Barefoot, their "technique" is solely hope people pick up from an unlisted number to talk. The one person who did when I received an update in early January proceeded to tell a bunch of lies (rather than say, it's me who is slandering your client--shocking, I know). I immediately called to correct this information. I heard nothing from Barefoot until I had to contact them in late February asking why I had not been updated via email, phone, or text--all which were readily available to Barefoot at all times. Instead of apologizing, excuses were made. I then received a ridiculous invoice that they took 8 days to manufacture to exactly come out to $500. Since I pointed out they failed to keep in contact with me, they can't text enough. Obviously too late. Just admit you made a mistake and failed to keep me updated or do any real investigative work and I wouldn't have had to file with the Better Business Bureau (which they have not, of course, responded to) and pursue other means of having at least a portion of my $500 refunded. Stay far, far away from this unethical business!!!

Experiencia negativa: Was told 175 an hour plus database fees and after 1 hour of work I would get a call to discuss if I want to continue. I ended being charged 1.31 of "search time" and wasting $500 just to be told theres no assets the guy I was going after has. The fees should be more transparent and I feel like they charge for everything. To go over the findings I was even billed. I think doing the right thing should have been offering to remove the overage fee of search time after 1 hour agreed upon billable time and not charging me to tell me what you found, nothing. Ridiculous. 200+ in database fees is also a bit absurd.
