Experiencia fantástica: It was a pleasure allowing Scott and his team to obtain funds for a family member, this would have been an almost impossible task without them due to the complexity of our claim. Their due diligence, working with the State was a lengthy process of navigating through the layers of red tape but it finally paid off as this was a substantial amount of funds. The relationship they've built with the Department is a benefit often not known to claimants, this is the reason why we will use Scott's team if more unclaimed property is ever available to us. Experiencia negativa: I personaly do not recommend this private investigative service to anyone looking to find their lost assests from the state of California.. This company put me through a traumatic experience by telling me my funds were coming and that I would be able to pay off my school debt. The money never came to me. They assured me it was fast tracked and the funds would be expedited to me before May 2025, this also ended up being a lie. I would not recommend these people to protect your assest they are only concerned about funding themselves. Thank you Lauralee I would like to add, on April 23rd 2025 I recieved an email from this firm. It read, " the value of the expedited claim number 10228828 which I was told by Pettinato and Associates is worth $3,266. I was excited to be told I would recieve this money to pay off my college debt. However it was $477. Is what it really was which put me in shock considering I told this firm that my debt was $1,700. They assured me that I would get the $3,266. In plenty of time before I graduate in May of 2025 to pay off the $1,700 it wasnt even half of what i owed..lolol jokes on me! Moreover, unfortunantly I am still waiting for my money, which is still not mine and my debt is still sitting there at SDSU which Mr. Sott Pettinato seems to know so much about? What goes at where I attend school? .. I am working on it now to get it paid off. Thanks to Pettinato and Associates I had to go on a leave of absence for a year until I get it paid off which held me up going into graduate school. I proceeded with their process and thought it did take time, I got the funds CA owed me by check about 4.5 months later. Very pleased with this result. Experiencia fantástica: On two occasions over the last decade, I have received letters from Pettinato and Associates telling me that they had located some unclaimed property in my name and offering to process the recovery for a fee (payable only if and when the property was recovered). I researched the firm online and decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did. While the first case was straightforward, the second was way more complicated and Scott's intimate knowledge of how the California Unclaimed Property Department worked was invaluable. I recommend Scott and his firm without reservation.

Experiencia negativa: I don't understand the value add of using this company for my unclaimed property. I only received a letter from Pettinato & Associates *after* I had already begun the claim process myself directly with the state. My claim is not complicated--why would I pay someone else 10% to still have me provide the same info I submitted directly? I saw another review saying the person got their claim in 6 months using this company, but that is the state's noted processing time anyway. I really don't get it. Edit to add: I actually received my check from the state *before* the 6 month timeline, without paying 10% to this company.

Experiencia fantástica: Scott is professional, responsive and highly competent. My case was complex in that it involved two different states and unclaimed funds in excess of $40k. Scott could not have been more helpful. He was also the first of many to contact me about reclaiming these funds (being first counts and says a lot as well). I basically just did everything he told me to do to a 'T' and then mustered up some patience and waited. And then, right in the timeframe Scott had outlined for me, the funds were released and now I'm sitting on found money. This is a guy who does what he says he is going to do and that is a rare thing these days. If you are in a similar situation as mine I highly recommend Pettinato & Associates. I'm quite pleased with how my business was handled and the outcome too.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband got a letter in the mail about 6 months ago from Pettinato and Associates saying he had unclaimed property and they were going to help him get it. They have you sign papers and confirm your identity of course. Also they send you a letter letting you know the process. We didn't know if he would really get his money or not but he just received his check today. Thank you!

I called them because I received a letter and it was skeptical I left a message and ask them if they were going to call me back to be a little slow on their speaking and leaving the number I left my number at a normal speed that anybody can write it down. Further explained that I screen my calls so please leave a detailed message with your number so I can easily write it down I received two phone calls I know they're not dumb and they're far from stupid so apparently they just don't care. I hope this helps everyone out who's reading this don't pay these clowns nothing you don't have to if you're from California go to the website California unclaimed funds and you'll find a form to fill out you can do it all by yourself without paying anybody anything it's not complicated then you can fill it out cuz it's really easy you just put your your name and your address in the box and it pulls up and then you just go from there I don't know how to explain it to you but don't pay these clowns nothing I would not leave a nasty review if the person didn't talk real fast in the message and her tone and her attitude was very unprofessional. They know you need them so they treat you like your I don't even want to say the word, you get it. Update, today's January-9th 2024. This attorney called me trying to justify their wrong they had plenty of time she spoke a lot of words but when it came to her phone number she spit it out real fast everything was clear except for her phone number she did exactly what I asked her not to do but as I said if you live in Pennsylvania or California there's a website that you can go on to that's unclaimed properties in California all you got to do is go in that search for property fill your name out it's free you can even call I take a long time and get somebody on the phone but it's better than paying them to what do what would take you it took me literally minutes to fill the paperwork out and I mean minutes my name my address and search and it came up don't pay these clowns nothing they're a bunch of crooks I know you're going to get the email Scott that's what happens when you people do what you do but you're a smart guy you're in the business to makeand that's what you're doing you're making money off other people's ignorance or laziness and I don't mean ignorant in a derogatory way it falls into the category of just not knowing now you know so if you read this you can do it all by yourself you don't need this attorney to do nothing for you at the worst case scenario you'll have to print it out and a PDF file and but you still don't have to pay anything and what's crazy I found more money that was there but because these guys are so money hungry they didn't want to pay the they didn't want to do the extra work for the of the 10% that they would have they're not going to go away out of their way to help you when are they going to get is $13, don't use these guys my opinion. I think this falls under my amendment freedom of speech I know you can listen to your outgoing call Scott you should listen to them and listen to how she's leaving messages you did a much better job than she did that goes to show that you value your clients or your potential clients but you're hired help they don't. One last thing I was just asking for a phone number and your representative couldn't even get that right I wish I can forward this message to you but I think I deleted it already but I know your technology you can listen to it you should do your research and check it out yourself don't take my word for it everyone else has to but you can do that I ain't got any reason to lie

I've went to email several people, sent multiple documents via email, tried mailing, but everything is wrong in their eyes. I'm at my wits end and feel like it's not even worth the effort anymore. I'm tired of getting the same document resigned signed and notarized just for it to get rejected.

Experiencia negativa: I recieved this in the mail. And If you use this service you are a sucker. For unclaimed property, all you have to go to the state that you think has money or property that is owed to you. Every state has a search under the gov website of that state, for unclaimed money aka property. Once you find your unclaimed property, all you have to do is put in the information of who you are, basically proof, and then they will send the check to you. You do not need this ridicilous service. When you can do it all for free.

Experiencia negativa: This company contacted ME 6 months ago, advising me that they have found unclaimed assets that belong to me, I was unaware of this money, I wasn’t even thinking about any money being owed to me. So by nature I did whatever I could to get this “money back” like providing my SSN and notarizing a document… they told me it will take 6 months for the claim to be approved. So i was under the impression the money was mine and they did research to prove it was… otherwise why notify someone that they are getting money? Six months later you send me a letter saying additional documentation is required because there is a SSN mismatch and it turns out they money really belonged to someone else at A DIFFERENT APARTMENT, Imagine if I really needed that money? Like why sell someone a dream, especially involving money? I was better off not even knowing anything about this. & All you have to say is “Well there other people with the same name ma’am” like okay and that’s why I provided my SSN 6 months ago! I’m so frustrated with this company and they are terrible at communicating to say the least. If you get a notice from them don’t even give your business to them save time and go straight to the source. Plus in the end they are only trying to “help you recover your funds” so they can get a cut too. Pathetic.
