Negative experience: Horrible experience!!! These are the type of people who get involved in security/law enforcement bc they want power and authority and will abuse it. Wanna be alpha males, they’re a joke. UPDATE (to the completely expected lack-of-accountability response): wrong, but nice try! It's a client having issues with you :) I'd say train your staff and do better, but the responses and attitude I've seen from "Chief" Jean shows me nothing will change. You seem to think every bad review is retaliation and has no purpose, but you seem to be missing the point of a review I guess? Don't worry, I can educate you! Retaliation? Pointless? Nope, just trying to inform others of the horrible experience we (and it seems many others) have had with your business. Good reviews are not the only valid reviews. A quick google search of the purpose of reviews might be helpful for you as well. As you like to tell people... "best of luck" with your business! You've got one of the worst ratings of security agencies in the area, so, you need it.

Fantastic experience: I gave Ranger protection agency 5 stars. Because they truly are one of the best security companies in texas. They do everything the clients wants and needs. They put the best security officer to meet there clients needs. Rather it being a stationary officer, foot patrol officer or mobile patrol security officer. They get the job done. They are one of the few security companies that work directly with law enforcement and truly want to help people be safe. I will always recommend Ranger protection agency over all other security companies in texas.

Negative experience: Today, I had an extremely disturbing experience with two individuals from Ranger Protection Agency at the Hilton Hotel in Austin, Texas. What should have been a routine interaction turned into an aggressive and unjustified ordeal. My group was waiting for a response regarding a refund after being expelled by the hotel manager (who yelled at us following our complaint about a strong cigarette odor in our room) when these security guards approached. Our phones were charging, but they aggressively removed the chargers and threw them on the ground, without even attempting to understand the situation, and immediately demanded that we leave the premises. Their behavior quickly escalated from unprofessional to unacceptable. They began taking photos of us without our consent, and one of the guards even physically touched me, claiming he had the right to do so, as well as to photograph us. When we asked to call the police due to their hostile actions, they threatened to press charges against us for remaining on the property, completely disregarding the fact that we were still there awaiting resolution of the refund with the hotel. The entire encounter was marked by shouting, intimidation, and a blatant disregard for our rights. This is not how security personnel should conduct themselves, and it reflects terribly on Ranger Protection Agency. Avoid this company at all costs—their staff’s conduct was nothing short of disgraceful.

Fantastic experience: I recently hired Ranger to assist with a vacant building we own in a notorious area known for theft and vandalism. Prior to hiring, I encountered countless break ins and squatters and could not manage anymore on my own. Once hired, Ranger provived great service and daily reporting via email which allowed me to visit the site less and rely on their expertise. The building remains vacant but have had not one instance where we had issues with vagrants. I highly recommend Jean and her staff to assist with any product type but is a no brainer if you have a building sitting empty! Thanks Ranger, Matt F.

Fantastic experience: It’s an ok company

Negative experience: They are not opened or available 24/7 as advertised. My apartment complex hired them so we can call about complaints or disturbances. I called three times about a noise complaint and no one ever showed up.

Negative experience: I called their 24 hour hotline for a security concern and it said their mailbox was full and couldn't accept messages. Utterly incompetent

Fantastic experience: I spent a little time working at Ranger before I had to leave. The company is very good. The employees were very professional and helpful. I never had any issues and if I did the company took care of it instantly. The other Ranger Officers were absolutely awesome. If I ever needed help they were always there, any advice they were always there, and any issues that popped up were genuinely handled and taken care of very well. I liked the company and I’m sad to leave. They were very proper and ran the company very smoothly.

Ive seen people come and go, and just to let you know; any negative reviews left here are folks that did not want to work hard and do the job. This is not a place where you come to just get paid, we work. We work hard at being the best in the business. I respect the work our officers do, and the requirements that our officers are expected to do. This is not a security company that sleeps in their cars. We work to protect your properties.

Negative experience: One of the Security Guard in this company at Longspur Crossing Apts was very Rude and was about to hit my car and get out of car screaming loudly and threatening me with some object in his hand. after filing a formal report with APD, I was surprised to find a citation with some violations that does not have anything to do with the incident , simply to protect himself. the funny thing that the Security guard admit in front of police that after 2 bumps in that resident that he stop to look for his smoke or vape and when i pass him , he act like someone want to race with him, thank God i did not make a turn to the left. otherwise my car will be damaged . at first i did not even know he is a security, and accuse me of speeding while my drive is a low profile and no way i will push gas on bumpers. Therefore, TO HIRE SUCH INDIVIDUALS WITH THAT BEHAVIOR OF EGO JUST BECAUSE HE CARRY A GUN AND THINK HIMSELF OVER OTHER PPL IS UNACCEPTABLE. By the way, this incident will be addressed with their HR , as i have a case with APD and need to be addressed accordingly. their job is protecting resident not escalating issues to a Western Cow boy era due to color or race. the incident occurred on Saturday approximately 1500 on 10/01/2022.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to the Ranger Security Agency, our apartment complex where I live feels a lot safer at night :) Unfortunately crime is going up in Austin nowadays, and where I live I hear from other neighbour's in my complex about occasional car break-ins and homeless people going into the dumpsters at night. Thankfully our manager gave us this business card for the Ranger protection agency if we see something sketchy (since calling 911 doesn't seem to help and the Austin Police wont come unless someone has a weapon or is in danger!) anyways the ranger guards now hangs around here till midnight and those crime addict low lives get intimidated when they see the Ranger patrol car so they stop coming here :) Thank you guys!

Fantastic experience: As an employee, Ranger did for me much more than any other company I had ever worked for has done. Most people would just chalk that up to it being a smaller grass roots company, however in my personal experience they truly care about their employees. They took me in, a 21 year old kid with hair down to his butt and financial problems, and got me licensed; which gave me both a career and purpose. It's been months since I was both living in Austin, and an employee with this company; but for a kid who went to the interview on a whim, this company and it's employees changed my life for the better. Fantastic experience: I have worked for many government and private security related organizations and this has been by far the best. The employees work as a cohesive unit and support each other to get the job done. Their response to incidents is far superior to local law enforcement and they interact well with the community. The company has a solid business foundation but hasn't become so corporate like to forget their employees. They treat each employee as individuals and truly want them to succeed. They have worked with me in troubled times and have an understanding that people are human. They truly help get the best out of their employees and put the success of their business back into the individuals. No government agency I have worked for compares to the solid business foundation and attention to detail as Rangers.

Fantastic experience: My company uses the Rangers to watch over our property after gate closes. I have to tell you that I have interacted with several different Rangers and I am more than excited that my boss has added this service. I feel protected and feel my tenants are as protected as we can possibly be. They have helped me out with a few issues that I could not handle on my own. No property is ever "Fool" proof but I sleep better at night knowing My Rangers are coming on site throughout the night. Kudos to A. Budnar and L. Smith for helping me contain a situation last night which probably would have gotten ugly had they not stood watch over it.

Nathan, Ranger's security patrolmen, has done a great job of making our community feel safe. Fantastic experience: From what I read, I think I am going to try and get on with this company.

Negative experience: I worked for the company for two years treated me great gave me three raises, but when I decided to leave the company to pursue a better opportunity the owner assured me that I wasn't going to be knocked down to minimal wage since they have a two week notice policy in place I offered a noticed but was told to just finish schedule, when I received my last checks the owner screwed me and wouldn't return my calls, texts, or emails. So if you decide to work for the company get everything in writing and cover yourself.

Fantastic experience: Rangers are a very rare breed of armed security. Their professionalism is unmatched. Everyone who hires Ranger is very please. Rangers take a proactive approach to addressing security of their clients and the results achieved speak for themselves. I've worked for Ranger and as an employee they were very accommodating of personal schedule. The environment felt more like a family than a company. The executives are always willing to work with you. Ranger is also a great way to gain experience and be a high quality candidate for a Police Officer. Honestly it is one of the best companies I've ever worked for.

Fantastic experience: Ranger is one of the best employers I've ever had. If I weren't having to relocate, I would've definitely stayed at this job for years and years. They've cultivated a really positive work culture, and the job itself is always exciting and interesting. Also, they tell you exactly what they expect of you and what they want you to do, a rarity these days, and they really care about giving the clients excellent service and making sure they remain content.

Positive experience: Ranger Protection Agency is a good group of officers and provides great work. As a employee I came with my fair share of problems as we all do and they worked with me through them. I cant say enough about David and Brian. Those two men made "Ranger" the company to me. Brian inspires his officers to follow him into the worst places he is a true leader. David was the other kind of leader he was smart and well spoken and had a presence to him that made him bigger then life. I was a patrol officer and loved my route and miss my fellow officers. If you need serious security call a serious team call Ranger!

Fantastic experience: Worked there for a few month, and they have great Managers and Supervisors, Employees. My personal car got damaged , so I could not travel to Austin no longer. But I recommend to anyone!!

Fantastic experience: I worked for Ranger for a while and I can say that they are one of the finest companies that I have worked for. In line with some other posts, they did hire some screw ups. But as a supervisor, it was my responsibility to insure that the new officers were trained to the highest caliber and that the clients received the best quality of service. I failed them on a couple of occasions as far as training. But the Arlington Texas Officers were some of the best to work with. That was reflected in the relationship the company had with PD. I do miss those days for sure.

Fantastic experience: Worked for this company for several years and it was, and continues to be, top notch. I was treated professionally by all of it's management staff. This is, to me, one of the best security companies in Austin TX.

Negative experience: All in all an okay company. Not one I would want to work for again but something I did like what how they put God first than family then work. When my wife was pregnant and ended up in the hospital which lead to a miscarriage they gave me the time off to be with her and I appreciate that. My review is not from a customer point of view but from an employee. I’m not targeting the company with my review but the people they hire. Rude and unprofessional. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes while employed with them (I was very new to security and thank the Lord they had patience with me and now I am better because of it) but I strongly believe that The security hired needs training before they go out on their own. My other issue is how they let people go. I was not told I was not working for them anymore till I called saying I was on my way to a shift and they told me I had been terminated the day before. I did not appreciate that. But all in all every company has their flaws and so do workers. If you are new, give it a shot but keep in mind it’s a rough job and dangerous.

Negative experience: This company does a ton of illegal stuff. Patrolling properties with assault weapons. Supervisor entering rooms gun drawn etc. These clowns think they are some kind of Security SWAT team. 19 years ive worked security in some of the most dangerous places you could imagine. Places the local police wouldnt even go without a minimum of 3 officers. In all my years my gun has left its holster only once (we were being shot at) and only 1 post had i ever patrolled with an AR 15 because it was a government site and was mandatory. They also obviously dont know the laws either. Im very suprised DPS lets this company stay in business. BTW Asst. Chief it is a felony to carry a baton without a baton card says DPS it only took me 5 minutes to find it. Hire these clowns only if you want to intimidate your tenants and face the possability of one of these clowns killing someone on your property.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend them enough. We needed someone to do an emergency 24/7 security patrol at a house with troublesome tenants. They stepped up and were available within hours. Ranger sent us photos throughout the timeframe they were helping us, and they were always available by phone/email. Super professional, helpful, and went above and beyond! They even helped us FedEx something because we are out of state and were unable to do so. 5 stars all around!!

Negative experience: First off I'm not a former employee or customer. I got word from several fellow veterans of how this company treats them and their labor law violations. When I posted of the company's Facebook page about the allegations they the admin dismissed it as "lies" from those veterans. When I told them I would post further information on their page about it. They preceeded to block me. I strongly advice anyone but especially my brothers in arms to stay away from these people since they are veteran unfriendly. I am speaking for these individuals because they fear retaliation from their employer for exercising their rightfully earned 1st Amendment right.
