Is a great guy and take his time so that you understand the laws and procedures. I had sooooo much fun in the class and very comfortable. These people are A1 when it comes to security and knowing your 493 laws

Fantastic experience: Very kind, very professional, and informational company. My Class DI Instructor (Lester) was funny when appropriate, yet formal when equipping his students with the proper information for Unarmed Security Guard Training. As for my Class K Instructor (Kyle) he did a phenomenal job identifying the major points of being an Armed Security Officer whole also keeping things lighthearted. Both instructors were great at pin-pointing the significance in the general job description, and at the same time keeping the class fun and active. This Corporation was reference to me by a Clay County Sheriff Officer. This was the BEST decision I made, especially after hearing about so many fraudulent classes out there.

Fantastic experience: When i first arrived at the Giddens Security Corp. Class, I was nervous. Worrying if I would remember all the course material. The instructor was knowledgeable and fun despite the seriousness of the material. Mr. Haussie teaching skills are exceptional, he makes learning enjoyable with his vast knowledge. Fantastic experience: I took my class D it was a good experience so I came back again for my Class G, the experience was informative, learning laws and safety, and getting out on the range was the most fun I really loved it, Instructor Ervin was great, and the class and other individuals were great.

Negative experience: My experience with Gideon’s security personnel at Jacksonville International Airport has been consistently disappointing, particularly when it comes to how they treat drivers who are simply there to pick up passengers. There is a clear and concerning lack of professionalism and respect. The security agents frequently speak to drivers in an unnecessarily aggressive and condescending manner. Rather than communicating calmly or respectfully, they often come across as accusatory and dismissive, questioning drivers as though we are being dishonest or violating regulations—even when we are fully compliant and cooperative. What is especially troubling is that agents have, on multiple occasions, touched or leaned on vehicles without permission. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also crosses a line when it comes to personal property. Drivers should not be subjected to this kind of treatment in a public airport setting. Gideon’s security team would greatly benefit from training in respectful communication, conflict de-escalation, and professional conduct. Drivers—whether private individuals or professional chauffeurs—deserve to be treated with basic human decency and not as if they are a problem simply for being on airport property. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot speak positively about the way Gideon’s security operates at Jacksonville International Airport.

Negative experience: Subject: Response to Unjust Termination and Lack of Compassion Dear Mr. Darrell Giddens, I am reaching out as a professional and a concerned individual to express deep disappointment in how your management team handled Ms. Todd’s situation. It is troubling that a company operating in the United States would choose to disregard basic human compassion especially when a child’s health is at risk. Ms. Todd was forced to choose between her unresponsive child and her job, and her relief was still an hour away. Sir, do you really understand that she had to choose keeping her job or possibly have a murder and child neglect criminal charges. Any reasonable person understands that no job especially one rooted in public safety should expect a parent to remain on duty while their child is experiencing a potential medical emergency. Had she stayed and something tragic occurred, would anyone at Giddens Security have taken responsibility? Or would the company have continued prioritizing contracts and profits over human life? Your response demonstrates a disturbing lack of empathy. I intend to speak out, confidently and truthfully, at hiring events and public forums about this experience to ensure others are aware of how your company treats its employees and their families. Fantastic experience: I got my security license class D, the instructor Lester was Awesome, and I recommend anyone who desires to work in security to go get your 40 hours from Giddens.

Negative experience: The gate staff can't do a simple job and hold up the guest lane and give residents priority coming through the gate. They are going to cause an accident!!

Negative experience: Gideons Security hiring practices have resulted in subpar staff performance, exemplified by Marisa's behavior at the guard gate of The Ravines Community. Her constant phone use compromises her ability to perform duties effectively. The latest incident involved her admitting a barcode-less individual without ID verification or computer check-in. Upon confrontation, Marisa obscured her name tag and falsely claimed recording restrictions, disregarding the premises' surveillance and her contractual agreement. To put me and my neighbors in harms way is unacceptable and should be dealt with, we pay to live in a nice and protected environment but the consequences of negligence are on us instead of Marisa and the company Gideons Security as a whole.

Positive experience: 4 stars based on online and walk-in experience. Online, I was told one thing in a chat, and in person another. Which is fine bc someone could have made an honest mistake. Fyi, The Security D classes are IN PERSON, and cost $160 for40 hrs , 5 days, I believe from 8 am to 5pm- ish. Once you pass your 2 hr test, and pass, toull need to apply for a security license theough yhe State of FL Licenseing Dept, which costs about $96 ,After that you'll wait for your security card in the mail. Until you receive it, you'll have a temporary issue by the company. The woman at the front desk answered all of my questions.

Negative experience: Uneducated ill-tempered anti-American morons

Negative experience: They should make it clear that they’re weekly D liscense training is not guaranteed to take place I literally took the week off from work to complete this course, 3 people showed up and because there wasn’t a 4th person they cancelled class for the week without any type of forewarning of this possibility… very unprofessional!

Negative experience: Lester is a very great instructor✨ He makes the class so fun and enjoyable!!!! He wants you pass and not waste your money and I love how he cares about everyone he teaches. He’s the reason this company got any stars from me. On the other hand, they do not guarantee you a job and do not work well with “broken schedules”. It’s kind of like they’ll lead you on into thinking you’re going to get a job there, but they never call you back or update you on employment. I was really depending on them for a job, but they just fed me a bunch words to lead me on. I really did not appreciate that at all. But hey, it happens.

Negative experience: Terrible management. They are based out of Jacksonville. I had an a compliant about Tallahassee post. Never returned call. Seriously considering litigation. Guards are decent people but poorly trained. Believe management low key bigot not guards fault.

Negative experience: They do something out at Jacksonville Airport that resembles security. The experience I had was with an old, white haired man, that was working traffic. This man was running around yelling and banging on car hoods like a crazy person. People were asking what was going on and were showing real concern about this guy. I finally caught a law enforcement officer that was walking by and pointed the guy out as a problem. She sighed and said she would go talk with him "again" indicating that this guy is an ongoing issue. This isn't at all a good representation of what security should be doing. Especially at a high volume place like an airport. This guy was causing more problems and slowing down traffic more than any good he thought he was doing.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional company, always calling my fiance in last minute when they have enough time to find people to come in .also he gave months in advance for our wedding for them to fing someone to come in only for them to schedule him on our big day and I already have it off and I'm not moving it.weve been together 10years too.

Fantastic experience: You have two security guards working the Tallahassee city hall that are awesome. So respectful and heck they knew the law better than the police!! Outstanding guards and a testament to your company. Thank you for having such good employees

Positive experience: I've been with them for about a year now. I take 1 star away because there's no sick pay or vacation. Maybe something with benefits has, which I declined. If you need babysitting, this is not the place for you. Your usually on your own (which I like) but you have to learn your expectations for your posts fast. Logging and adding up your hours every week is your responsibility. If you earn their trust you will get the best posts with competitive pay. Be upfront with them on where and when you can work from the beginning.

Negative experience: Giddens security is the lowest paid company in Florida for armed guards. $14.50hr ‍♂️ and they expect a ton of extra things out of you for no pay. The management only cares about their inner circle...the employees can pretty much go pound sand. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.....anywhere else!!! GIDDENS IS GARBAGE DO NOT TRUST THE AREA MANAGER MILTON!!! He's ALL talk.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional power thirsty employees. An employee denied us access to a public beach because the speakers were “too loud” two weeks ago. This is a total slap in the face to someone that has worked very hard to be able to create a vehicle optimal for the beach.

Negative experience: Many of their security guards are rude wanna be cops. Made complaints and don't want acknowledge my complaints. Potential for wrong doings, abuse, harassment and lawsuits. Stay AWAY from this company and their security guards!

Negative experience: Complete joke. Stay away. Barney fife security. Totally unprofessional. People who came in for training smelled like weed and alcohol as did some of their employees. Instructors made jokes about shooting the students and drew their firearms on each other in a joking manner and then spoke about gun safety lmao. Also seemed like they only wanted to collect money for the class after saying they have several open positions. After taking the class no response about said positions was given and emails went largely ignored until the owner sent a very rude email saying that there are no positions open and it would be in my best interest not to come in for an interview that was promised. Also lied saying I missed my scheduled interview lol. What a total and complete joke. Stay away people. Unless you’re completely desperate and want to risk your own safety by going to the range with these guys to qualify.
